While the app is getting better with updates, it's still buggy and I wouldn't rely on it, our alarm is monitored and the notifications sometimes come through before the call from the monitoring company but often notifications don't come through at all.

Believe so, was bulletproof until moday, now notifications are sporadic on pushing to phone.  Communication to arm/disarm perfectly fine though

Is it possible that the app was suspended due to power savings or non-use for a longer period? Did you apply an iOS update over the weekend? Maybe it's ScreenTime saying that you are receiving too many notifications?

Screen time is disabled, good point though, never considered that.
