Hello all,

someone mentioned DAKboard in another thread. As I was googling it I glanced to my left and saw my Windows 10, 8" tablet sitting round gathering dust. An idea was formed.

Can anyone recommend a smart display app I could use on Windows 10? DAKboard was very much read only, If I could add calendar events on the tablet at my fridge that would be a killer feature.

I want to stick with Windows, as I don't want to deal with driver hell by putting an alternative OS on the device.

Let me know what you think

Cheers!

I use DAKboard on an old tablet in the kitchen. Our family uses a shared family iCal calendar on our phones to update calendar events and it works great, just copy the public link in to the DAKboard Calendar under 'Calendar Settings'.

I guess in theory you could switch apps and use outlook calendar on the windows tablet to update from the tablet itself then switch back to the DAKboard for  a nicer display.

Thanks @Zorg2000 I haven't had time to test, but I found 'reminders' showed up on the calendar, but 'events' didn't? But events seem more logical to use on a calendar as reminders seemed to cross over into 'tasks' territory. What did you settle on?

I only use events. I’m running DAKboard via full screen on a web browser on an old Android tablet with a public iCal address shared from my iPhone. I haven’t tried reminders but adding events on the phone is simple and it populates across when it updates.
