I know the world has it... first the Windows Media PC... then Portable Media Center... but when will us NZers get something like that?

I like ipod but i prefer PMC. I'm debating between Archos's AV480 and Creative PMC... sadly neither are available in NZ...

The Creative Zen PMC should be available here already. I was in Auckland a couple of weeks ago demoing the PMC (at that time I had one of two in the country) for an audience during the Microsoft product announcement. Talking to Renaissance I was told the Creative PMC would be here in New Zealand around the first week of November. Give a little time for the (un)expected delays, and look for it. Check our Zen Creative PMC review in the meantime.

yeah, i have read the review, and was very looking forward to it when it is available in stores. sadly though, it's not fully complimented with Media Center PC... as that will be the best ideal way of recording tv programmes and port them over to PMC.

Cool! Check the Creative website - there's a firmware upgrade released a couple of days ago already. Apparently it increases the battery life and USB performance when transferring media.

Hey Mauricio, do you know how to copy DVD/VCD movies to PMC? I can't seem to get it right, and the conversion stage is SO SLOW!!!!

Oh by the way, does Creative product registration page ever work? I have so much difficulty trying to register my PMC! and looks like it is always down whenever i tried, which made me thing does it ever work at all....

Kel.

You can't. According to current NZ law media shifting is ilegal. Even for purposes of backup of media that you currently own.

You can only move digital media if you buy it in digital format, for example from the iTunes store or MSN Music Store, CDNow.com or CinemaNow.com.

In theory everyone with an iPod is outside the law.
