Does anyone have this lock installed at home?

I'm just wondering if it can be deadlocked from the inside to stop children opening it. From the pics it appears to just have a standard knob that you can turn to open from the inside.

It looks like the one I have. If it is the same your assumption is correct.  If its not, ours is also a Yale and I imagine the mechanisms are going to be very similar if not identical. The knob is pretty easy to turn and could easily be opened by a small child if they wanted.

Edit: To be clear... the knob is for the bolt.

Correct, it's just a standard knob inside.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

You can only disable pin codes using privacy mode. The turn knob is hardware and cannot be disabled.

I hate my Yale. BT never works. PIN is nice to have though.

If you deadlock the doors with people inside, you have a real fire safety problem.  It is a really bad idea.

We don't have the Yale Assure SL.

The Yale 3109+ does have a child-proof setting and this is the section from the manual:

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately that style of lock with a handle wouldn't really work on our door.

It appears most smart locks at the moment don't have any child proof feature so hopefully that will be added in future models.

We have multiple doors people can leave from, on our ranch sliders we have an extra lock at the top which can be reached by adults to unlock if required.

When you have a child with a disability who will happily wander off and approach complete strangers having all doors secured takes priority over any fire safety concerns. If any vehicles pull up in our driveway, couriers or trades people for example she will wander out and get into their van if allowed.

If she was wandering down the road anyone could pull up next to her and ask if she wanted to go for a ride and she would happily jump in.

It appears a smart lock isn't an option for us at the moment until there are options to secjre/unlock from both internal and external sides.

I think you miss the point about the fire hazard. It's about everybody in the household, not just your daughter. If you get to one door to escape a fire and it's deadlocked you are f'ed.

Maybe a pad or drop bolt is a better solution for your predicament.

There is another internal door to the garage right next to the front door, pretty sure we will be fine thanks.

GL. You should speak to your daughters OT (if they need/have one). They usually handle all this.

But the answer an OT likely provides is just to put handles etc up higher.

Which is fine until your daughter is 12 and can reach the top of the doors.

I think for now we will stay with the status quo until more smart lock options are available.
