I've been looking at buying a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 46mm (I wouldn't use LTE but have considered buying the LTE version to future proof).

Is there any NZ specific features/hangups/gotchas to be aware of? Of course there are lots of reviews on YouTube but they are mainly from the US market perspective.

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum or inappropriate, been a lurker for a long time.

While it will work with any Android phone, it has to be paired with a Samsung Galaxy phone to get the most out of it. Also ECG and blood pressure monitoring require a (non root) hack to get working in NZ.

Got an S21 Ultra so that isn't a problem and I was aware of the ECG/blood pressure limitations but that isn't a deal breaker.

I'd mainly be looking at it for notifications. I use FB Messenger a lot and sometimes miss phone calls because my phone is pretty much constantly on silent.

Sleep tracking is a bit flakey of late. There is quite a bit of chatter on the likes of reddit about it. Sleep tracking was ok at first on my Classic but of late it won't record deep sleep. My Apple Watch has not issues recording as does my older Samsung Gear. I have reset the watch without success.

How are you finding it compared to the Gear? I'm thinking of upgrading from that to the Classic as well. so prefect timing this thread came along

I was hoping there were some other people on the fence too.

I'm a bit worried about Google Assistant too as that would be a really good feature to have. Rumours are it's coming but think I have read Samsung has pulled this malarkey before, where they say it is coming but then forget or cancel it.

Anyone tried the Amazfit GTR2 or any of the Amazfit for that matter. How do they compare with the likes of the Samsung products. I like their battery life, the Amazfit that is.
