We are about to replace our hot water cylinder with a gas hot water unit (on the outside of the house).

 

Are there such things as gas hot water units that you can intergate the units usage?

 

I run Home Assistant so was hoping I'd be able to get daily/weekly stats in HA in preparation for the monthly bill.

Not sure if you mean an instant on hotwater system or gas storage but if it's instant on you might be able to monitor the power draw of the starter and fan to work out usage? Cross reference power draw over a couple of months with actual gas usage to get a rough idea?
