Hi all, I’m looking to swap out dumb light switches for Lifx smart swtches with hubitat integration over time. I will most definitely be using an electrician for the installation, but I want to make sure this will work. In one area I have a 3 (or 4 way?) switch, ie three switches along one hall way for a single hall lighting circuit. From my reading so far, the lifx switches are only single pole and can’t do conventional 3-way circuit switching, however for WAF I need to retain a working physical switch at the current locations.

I’m assuming then that I can use three lifx switches to replace all of the dumb switches where one will be a master with a load connected. The remaining two will have line connections to power the switches and can be programmed to trigger the master load connection so to speak.

Is my basic understanding somewhat correct? And, is the re-wiring that will be required fairly straightforward without the need to run new or additional cables?

Thanks in advance.

It will depend on what wires are between the switches and if the lifx requires an earth or not. If there is just a piece of twin between the switches there may be no neutral at the end that has supply to it as well. Sparky will be best to advise if its doable.

Thanks for the reply; earth isn't required so that should make things easier. I'm thinking I'll purchase a couple and try one out in a single pole switch, then call the sparky to have a look at the 3-way setup.
