Not sure I'd be picking Eufy cameras at the moment 😬
Anker’s Eufy lied to us about the security of its security cameras - The Verge

There's a whole other thread to discuss the security issues with Eufy. There's significant commentary that the issues discussed are actually non-issues though.
I think it's worth highlighting the controversy surrounding the brand in a thread about looking at purchasing said items.
If they had been honest about those things that had been discovered then yes, it would be mostly a non-issue. But as was highlighted in the other thread, it's more the fact that they weren't up front with that and then denied it when people started asking questions about it. Those who know more about how those push notification systems work probably expected that's how the whole thing worked, but those who didn't were rightfully surprised.

@Obraik This isn't the thread to discuss such matters but also this has been covered off to the last thread. Let's leave discussion the "security issue" out of this thread. There are multiple stories out there and not all are true but the official statement from Eufy is where it ends.
I've also got some Ring cameras powered by Solar (I can't wire anything up here due to a flat roof) and have been considering these cameras as a replacement to Ring.
