Parents want cameras for outside the house, but they are renting so wired cameras aren't really an option.

Looking at Eufy or Google Nest Cameras, although not too sure about Eufy with the recent controversy.

Anyone have any other recommendations or do's/don'ts?

Cheers.

The recent controversy is only relevant if you're looking for a privacy focused & 100% disconnected from the internet camera option. If your alternative is a google product, then Eufy is a significantly better choice.

I bought Eufy because I was sick of paying Nest's annual fees - and they're a decent middle of the pack camera. I wish they had some wired options personally.

The hookup on Youtube does some great breakdowns by segment. Try this one: Top 4 Wireless Battery Powered Security Cameras 2022. - YouTube
