Hi all, in relation to my earlier query re RC cars, we were gifted a RC truck :) however the battery charger has been lost for this.

I am having trouble sourcing the specific charging cable with the right plug to fit this type of battery.

Jaycar & a hobby shop were unable to tell us the part name.

Might this hive know the part name? So I can google and purchase a new charging cable.

Thanks!

Google reverse image search shows it's a JST SM-3P.

So maybe something like this is what you could be after?

Could be available locally, but hopefully this puts you on the right track

Have a chat with https://www.rchobbies.co.nz/ if you dont have any luck. Sometimes its just a matter of chopping off the connecters and replacing with something more common.

There is no standard for the wiring of those connectors so you need to check out whatever you get. It may be a ballance style with the connection between the 2 cells bought out, or it may be a thermal sensor. Its not as simple as just getting the right plug to fit.

In anycase, look at LED connectors for pre-terminated ones of those, its very commony on LED strips.
