We're looking to replace our Brother MFC printer with a new colour printer (laser or inkjet) for our office. Not keen on Brother brand based on our experience.

We don't require multi-function services like scan/copy.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a good colour printer that will run on WI-FI and print reliably without spending a fortune on ink cartridges or toner?

That's really weird because based on my experiences I would be all recommending a brother one. Perhaps they have changed in the last 5 years by my old one is still trucking along printing out courier labels and the other odd thing I need on paper.

I've had similar poor experiences with Brother over the years and have sworn off them. I'm also on the lookout for a colour laser for the home office but the two main options seem to be Brother and HP (which I also won't touch with their DRM crap).

Watching with interest.

Our (big) corp uses Canon printers. Can't speak to the price, but the devices are robust & seem to be low maintenance. The web interface for management is very technical.

We've had good success with the C356/C357 models. They are colour & have the scanner. For the b&w option we us the LBP312 devices.

I've had a relatively good experience with the Brother 3230CDW Laser Colour printer. Just over 3 years old 3000+ pages printed. I recently went with cheaper aftermarket cartridges, and they have worked fine for the last few months, except the other day the black came up with the dreaded 'no toner' error after a power cut despite it being 90% full. I still had the original empty cartridge (I had been meaning to drop it off to be recycled) so I swapped the chip off the old original one on to the aftermarket one and it works again. I also have a Brother Courier Label printer that hasn't missed a beat.
