Hi All,
I'm going to travel for some months and looking for tablet suggestions. I'd prefer an Android OS and would like to be able to use a keyboard from occasionally for doc and tables. Neve had one of these so I'm keen to hear about experiences. Thanks

I have Galaxy Tab S6 with the Samsung magnetic attachment cover/keyboard.

It is excellent. You can use it like laptop, it runs Word Excel etc. You can pull off the key board and it's a touch screen tablet.

I'd highly recommend it or one of the later versions like the S9.

The cover/keyboard is an optional extra but highly recommended too.

You can get WiFi only or models with a Sim. GPS is standard on both variants.

Camper travel base for bikepacking, MTB, tramping. As I mentioned above, we need to be able to use a keyboard for occasional document writing/reviews and excel/google sheets work.

If you only need the keyboard occasionally, you could get any Bluetooth keyboard and just connect it when needed. Then you're not adding the bulk of the keyboard to the tablet the rest of the time

The keyboard adds almost no bulk plus it acts as a protective cover for the screen.

Surface Go at 500grams for full Windows capability might be worth a look. I tend to think there is better value in Android if you don't need x86/64.

You could hotspot a wifi tablet off your phone as the 4G/5G models can significantly more.

If the S models are a bit out of reach, I can say I am happy with the most recent A model.

I got a Samsung Tab A9+ 11" wifi tablet and have been pretty happy with it so far, I haven't used a keyboard with it but imagine it would be just fine.

An iPad will give you the best experience, biggest App Store, widest range of accessories and generally is the best tablet choice for the vast majority of people. Android has been a miserable failure on tablets and Google really gave up trying a while ago.

If you’re not getting giving the iPad serious consideration you are missing out on an excellent choice.

Nice of you to resort to an insult rather than responding with any facts. It speaks volumes for the quality of your argument.

It’s objective fact that there are more tablet optimised apps available for the iPad, that far more are sold than any other tablets and there are far more accessories available.

When was the last time you used an Android S series tablet for a reasonable period of time? Dex runs circles around IOS Tablets for productivity IMO.

Ipads are a popular choice, and may well suit the OP, but to wipe out Android as a choice is misleading. Samsung have more tablets than ever before, not a classic indication the platform has been abandoned.
