I did a quick search for this but didn't come up with anything that aligned with what I am seeking guidance on:

Electric toothbrush replacement heads are reasonably expensive locally - so I was wondering what peoples experience is with getting these from Temu/Aliexpress? Are there any recommendations or words of caution etc?

fwiw I am specifically looking at Philips Sonicare brush heads.

Thanks in advance

I buy Sonicare brush heads, 'ultimate' ones I think - usually around $25 for one on special.

Have bought them from Amazon AU previously, but most recently when Farmers had a sale I ordered them online.

I can't say I would trust potential knock-offs from Temu etc, especially since each brush head has a chip in it to tell the toothbrush what type of brush head it is, how long it's been used etc right?

There were some non bosch ones you could get in the shops (supermarket maybe?)   but they were trash for their life expectancy.  So we went back to the official ones.

So YMMV on quality.

Costco sells huge packs of the Sonicare heads. At one point recently there were 6-packs for $54, but I don't recall the current pricing.

They're not reasonably expensive, they're outrageously, obscenely expensive, for Oral-B I've seen $10-15 for a single head consisting of a few cents worth of moulded plastic and nylon.  I've been getting bulk packs of Oral-B replacements off Aliexpress for years now and found them to be mostly identical to the official ones, I assume the Sonicare will be the same.

Edited to add: Here's one of the first hits, 8 pieces for $1.70, free shipping.

Side-rant: Electric toothbrushes are a rort on the same lines as mattresses, dozens of product versions that are all more or less identical but ensure you can't price-compare, and then in the case of toothbrushes they continue to fleece you mercilessly for the heads.

It's a bit like genuine printer ink.
