My kids have now forgotten their keys too many times, but no one ever forgets their phones.

So I am looking for recommendations to replace the door lock with a smart one that could be integrated with home assistant (preferably one that still have a physical key as a backup opening mechanism).

Most of the ones at PB Tech are not listed on the HA integrations.

Have a look at my posts in this thread:

My setup has been working perfectly in HA for about 9 months, battery is still about 85%. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks. So, TL/DR: you are running the TTLock HA integration on your E-LOK 8 series? Was it a hassle to get the client ID & secret approved in the TTLock website?

Yes, correct. Setting up TT Lock account was no hassle, you can do that ahead of time.

Cheers. The E-LOK 7 or 9 series seem to have a very similar profile as my existing door handle.

I measured the mortice lock backset and it's 30mm. Reading this page, it seems that I would not require the additional mortice? https://www.beveridges.co.nz/product/e-lok-7-series-smart-lock/

I was tempted by this EZVIZ lock (cheaper but it seems to have all features I wanted), but it's not mentioned anywhere on the HA github repo you linked on the other thread. :(

I’m not familiar with the EZVIZ lock. Some brands use the same (TT Lock) platform with a skinned OEM app (Schlage, elok), which makes it dead simple to just use TTLock app and go from there. It looks like EZVIZ doesn’t use the TTLock base app (from what I can see) so you might be out of luck with easy HA integration.
