I have an aftermarket wall adapter from chenzou frecom electronics. What markings etc if any are required to be on a 240 to 12v wall adapter with all the cheap chinese stuff floating the market how do you know it is safe?

It has a triangle with a tick in it, the number underneath refers to an erac (Electrical Regulatory Authorities Council;) certificate so it looks ok?

Yeah....markings.....unless they are on a reputable manufacturers product then they may well be useless.

Its joking said the CE mark just stands for "Chinese Export"

If you buy it from a retailer in NZ then you at least have the CGA to fall back on.

Or crack it open and post a closeup photo of the internals, and we can tell you whether it's worth getting another one or not.
