I'm looking at a few models I'd like to print, but they require very specific parts for assembly (screws, bolts, etc), that I just can't seem to find alternatives for locally.

And, of course, Bambu don't ship to NZ.

Below is an example of the sort of thing I'm talking about:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/1089563-89-batmobile-movie-accurate-edition

I've looked a couple of freight forwarders, but the seem really expensive for what will be very small packages.

What do others do, have you found local alternatives of equivalent parts?

Look up things individually on Aliexpress?  You can definitely get screw kits for ok prices then have a ton left for other builds. Same with magnets.  The code next to each item is searchable on Ali...  Bit more work but looks to be a little cheaper overall.

Searching the codes (e.g. AA196) for the BT2.5x10 SHCS Self Tapping Screw doesn't return any results. I can find similar screws, but the head height is different and hard to tell whether that will make a difference when assembling things. Some of the Bambu screws seem to have very shallow heads compared to socket head screws I can find anywhere else.

The main printer retailers in NZ hold some of this stock, but it can be hit and miss.  AliExpress is a good backup, I've bought a bunch of things that are either official Maker Supply, or no-name equivalents that work fine.  e.g. the little circular LED lights that fit most of the lamp models on MakerWorld are plentiful on Ali, and with more options than Bambu Lab has - e.g. RGB with remote control.

Unfortunately MindKits have advised that the don't have access to the full product range, so currently they can't get most of these parts either.

Ali Express and/or local hardware suppliers appear to have suitable alternatives for many of the parts, but not all from what I can tell. And I'm reluctant to print all the pieces to then find that the head on a screw is too big for the build etc.

@gehenna Where did you get any of the official Maker's Supply stuff?

vpn and you shop? - They look like small items, so hopefully not too bad on re-shipping cost
