Hello

I used to go to my local video store and get scratched CD's fixed in their machine.

Does anywhere in Wellington offer that service? Aro Video perhaps?

Thanks

Reddit says maybe slowboat records, but that was 3 years ago.  Or DIY with Brasso or similar ;D Might be worth a try on a cheap disc; seems it's quite a common DIY method.

Thanks, I'll give them a call. Ive done the old toothpaste, brasso etc before and generally it does work. I was looking at something automated but the machines have mixed reviews unless you spend thousands.

If you try yourself, go from the inside out, do not go in circles.

The CD player reads from the inside out and can cope with scratches where are it can not cope with rings ( does that make sense)

Look towards some of the retro gaming groups as that is about the only remaining user of optical media that may be damaged and needing repair.
