I have four of the Wiser 40/300-Series module switch 2AX in our home (in addition to also owning the dimmers). The switches have been working well for months now, without any problems.

A firmware update for the switches is available via Zigbee2MQTT, to go from 33884159 to 33884671. I've been loath to update them because what ain't broke, don't fix. Has anybody else updated the firmware, and if so, was there any improvement? I use only Home Assistant with these switches, not the Wise hub.

I need not have been such a scaredy-cat. I successfully updated the firmware of four switches using Home Assistant (Zigbee2MQTT backend) — including one that came with buggy launch firmware.

One of the folks responsible for making the firmware updates happen without the manufacturer's hub has a very detailed write up on figuring it all out. Turns out the switches / dimmers / hub are made by Tuya, not Schneider Electric.

yes thats correct - Tuya.. Their Wise hub for $500, is a Tuya hub.... for $40.

My HA upgrades the wise gear with no issues - I think...

Disappointed to learn that it is Tuya for the prices that they charge. What an absolute joke.

This is the brand that charges a fortune for all their fixtures and fittings. It's to be expected. At least its tuya and not some broken in house developed platform that will disappear when they get bored with it like their last ones.

Have you seen any point in upgrading the firmware? I'm running these with HA and don't seem to be lacking any features i can think of.

I read somewhere a way to get around it is put them in bluetooth mode, upgrade from there and then back to zigbee.

There is a bug in older firmware versions where under a certain scenario of turning it on and off with Zigbee, the next time you press the physical switch you have to press it twice to turn it on. Newer firmware fixes that issue.
