Hi all,

I hope this is in the correct forum.

I have never 3D printed something before but there is something that I want to make and would like to know the easiest software to use to do this.

I am not good with CAD, so this needs to be real easy.

Looking online there is a lot of great stuff that have made, given me some inspiration but not quite what I want.

The local public library has a 3d printer and they charge by the meter of filament, so that is OK.

Thanks

John

If a model already exists that (mostly) does what you want it to, download and use that (e.g., Makerworld, Printables, Thingiverse).

If you want to do something like make a 2D image 3D for printing, there are some tools for that in Makerworld.

Otherwise almost certainly Tinkercad https://www.tinkercad.com/. This isn't parametric, more combining shapes in positive and negative detail to produce what you want. There are a whole lot of pre-modelled shapes in there (letters, dinosaurs, fidget spinners) that are fun.
