Hi,

I'm trying to run my iPod classic through my car stareo which is a few years old. It's a Sanyo fxd-825gd stereo and I bought a Belkin cable supposedly for this very purpose but it doesn't work.

There's no AUX port on the car stereo.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions, thanks for your help

What sort of cable is it?

Is the stereo has no AUX or iPod input you'll need to use a FM transmitter.

It has a double RCA at one end and a headphone jack end on the other end. There are 2 RCA ports on the back of the stereo. I was thinking that an FM transmitter might be my other choice.

Thanks for your reply

Does the stereo have an AUX button on the front? Twin RCA's are normally just pre out so you can hook the stereo up to an amplifier, they are probably not inputs.

No it doesn't have an AUX button on the front, it does have a CD1 and CD2 though

In my old car I used to use one of these - worked a treat!

There are cables available to let you use the cd stacker connector for an aux in for lots of stereos. Hard to get now that most have a 3.5 jack (on the front which sucks)
