Have you thought about how you will power it? Then WDTV requires power and the harddrive may?? If the Nav Unit had composite inputs and you can power it I see no problems....

the WDTV units are 12 volt DC. they come with a 230volt to 12VDC power pack.
I have heard of people running then straight off the cars cigarette  lighter power and they have been fine running at 13.8 volts. ill probably solder up a 12v regulated supply just to be extra safe.(i'm a sparky so no worries there.)

they are so small and feature packed that they are hard to ignore for a car system..much much cheaper and smaller than a car PC.
I am looking at stripping out the guts of the under seat nav unit and installing one in there with a 2.5"HDD and simply extend the IR reciever to the dash so the remote works while pointing at the dash....

just wondering if anyone had any experience with the WDTV units??
