iTunes doesn't support WMA.

I hope that the content that you're converting is speech and not music, because converting directly from one compression protocol to another causes massive signal loss.

unfortunately, yes it is music. It's a little snippit of a song which I had been emailed.... have no idea of the title or group.... my end result is to use as a ringtone.

Itunes for Windows allows you to import non-DRM'ed WMA files. I think it converts them to AAC though rather than MP3.

Not sure if does the latest WMA version as well.

Ok, silly question, but what are DRM'ed WMA files.

Generally they are files that are either 'protected' when they were created or files that are purchased from WMA music stores.

When you rip a CD in Windows Media player you have the option of 'protecting' the files if I remember correctly.
