Just browsing Apples online store, the NZ one, and noticed on the new iPods (Touch and Nano) that they include VAT, not GST, but also the pricing seems to be wrong.

On the Apple home page it states "from $349 incl GST" but the store has the 8GB for "$379 incl VAT".  I am guessing they are applying the UK VAT rate instead of the NZ GST rate (but it's too early for me to work it all out)

Quite funny things me, I am sure it will be fixed soon.

BTW, I think I might buy one, I can use facetime/skype etc and get the device for < $400, a good deal.

I noticed that this morning too...quite hilarious.

I think the new Nano is a bit of a strange one though.

Personally eBay is the last place I'd be looking to buy an iPod! Plenty on Trade Me and Apple's own refurbished ones on their site.

I don't understand the new nano. It is really a shuffle replacement. It also looks like one of those cheap chinese clones, as design wise it isn't up to apples normal design standards. It is an ipod touch nano, but I can't see it being a success.  There was nothing wrong with the old nanos, but perhaps they weren't selling well. What I think many people  want is a very high capacity solid sate ipod nano, like the previous generation design, and that way they could retire the ipod classic. A 128GB ipod touch would also be great.

...and here's me with an 8GB iPod Touch that has never been more than half full....and I never hear the same song twice in a week.

128GB just seems like.....either someone has WAY too much time on their hands....or no concept of how long it takes to listen to 25,600 five minute songs (266 days if you listen for a solid 8 hours EVERY day).

Yeah....OK.....you can play video....but that's a LOT of porn!!!

EDIT: Damn.....forgot the smiley -> :-)

Some people like to have their entire music collection on a portable device, and to have it encoded at a good quality, you do need a lot of space. Also if you want a few movies on it, that will use quite a bit of space. That is why the ipod classic still exists, and I know people who still buy it solely for that reason. Also these apps are getting alot bigger. I have hundreds of apps on mine, and am using 8GB just for apps. I would certainly want at least 64GB next time

Well, I use to do a search on ebay, there are people who have good prices. Also if you read their reviews you will know if you can trust them or not..

Completely agree - I have 6.5GB of apps, 20GB of music and then there's photos, video podcasts, books, and precious little space for movies on my iPhone.

I hope next year the iPhone 5 comes with 64GB and the iPod touch goes up to 128GB.

The new Nano just doesn't do it for me...

The iPod touch was a let-down: .7mp camera with HD video recording??? and maxed out at 64GB again!
