Hello! Me again.
My boyfriend was trying to turn on my iPod and mashed buttons and somehow put it into "Disk Mode". I can't touch anything, it's like its locked, the screen says "ok to disconnect" and a giant tick.
Apparently I have to reset the iPod to get it off this mode which means u move the hold button back and forth then hold down Menu and Play together. I do this, and nothing.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!
Thanks

Have you tried the five Rs, as explained on Apple's support site?

alasta, i'm not actually a retard. did u know that? i only come here when i've exhausted all other options because sometimes geeks know things that i dont.
i pretty much just ran the iPod updater except i reset the damn thing and lost everything, FYI PEOPLE - ipods arent all theyre cracked up to be. They're frigin expensive and i'm pretty sure there's other things out there now that do pretty much the exact same thing and are way cheaper.

Hey, Miss Louie... I am pretty sure alasta didn't imply that. It's just that sometimes a small thing pass under the radar and it's always good to have someone else to point to a list of things to check, as all good geeks would do.

Yes there are other MP3 players out there but alot of them have half-baked interfaces, poor integration with computers playlists, half-baked sync programs and more. In any case this thread is not here to discuss the shortcomings of alternative players.

For your information, that support page posted helped me in a similar situation with my 40g Ipod photo... so its more helpful than you think judging by the response you made.

I'm 100% sure that Alasta had no malice or intent of belittling you, in future, I think the best thing is not to bite the hand that feeds (via helpful advice) you.

But he didn't help me, i'm not actually a retard, i know it's hard to believe, but I can count to ten and I do know my way around the Apple website preeeetty well by now considering all the dramas I have had with iPods.
And whats up with jamman or whatever it is? He's like the annoying smart kid in class who tells on the kids who cheat off each other. Miss, miss!!!!!!!! THEYRE CHEATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111oneeleven

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your advice, and everyone else who has tried to help, I just dont appreciate his. Is there SUCH a problem with that? The world isn't actually falling down around us. I don't like him. Do I have to?

No you don't.  But with an attitude like that, it is unlikely anyone will get any joy out of helping you.

I hope someone gets you this for your birthday because I think it would be of great benefit to you.

You dont have to appreciate anyone or anything, we are not the thought police. This is however a private forum with rules, which if you dont like, you are welcome to go elsewhere...

Forum rules: If you don't agree with someone's post, attack the idea, not the poster.

He was 100% trying to help. He gave you a good quality, verbose answer. The appropriate response would probably have been something like "been there, done that" or words to that effect.

There is to be no more discussion about this. Policies are policies. This thread goes back on topic now, or it gets locked.
