Hi,

I have just got an iPod nano and have a few questions, maybe someone can help me?

1) When I am in iTunes it says that I have 892,6 MB free (even though there is no music / pictures etc. on the iPod) is this normal?  Is there something on the iPod that I still need to delete / clear to have the 1GB space?

2) When the iPod is automatically updating and downloading the tunes in my selection why does it not already delete the song that I do not want on there?  Do I need to do this manually?

3) When converting a CD to iTunes sometimes it only downloads 38 seconds of the song, is there something wrong that I am doing?

I really appreciate anyone's help with this!

1 - it may have 1GB memory, but it needs to use some of that for file system formatting, and some for firmware etc,

This is normal

For number two, remember that the song still exists in 'Itunes' if you delete it off your custom playlists.

Make sure you remove the song from the Library afterwards (and say yes that you want to delete the file otherwise you'll get a bloated Itunes music directory). Once you remove it from your Library, it should be removed from your Ipod.

For 3 - have you tried another CD? I've similar problems with a several cds that got damaged.
