Just spotted that speaker audio is still audible with a headset plugged in. Do I have a flakey device, or is this the norm?

That's weird... I don't have that issue.

BTW, there's a firmware you can flash that lets it play divx movies... it works fine!
Google "Skytex Primer firmware"

It also boots faster and has heaps more settings

Might even fix your prob

Yeah - with you on that. (Primer) I reckon I must have a flakey unit. I "Primer-ed" mine on day one. It also gives me the ability to charge-while-using, (using 5v dc socket with a 1A adapter). I see DSE have upped it back to $159 here in NZ and $AUD129 over the ditch. Presumably no one has mentioned the appreciating local currencies to them.....

BTW, mine has not changed into a radio. Did yours?

Nah, still no radio... and still a crappy 30sec backlight time. I could charge and read already... father-in-law cant.
