Hi there

Does anyone out there know if there is an MP3 player that has a built-in card reader so that photos can be transferred from digital cameras, etc?

A good question. I too would also like to hear of any suggestions.
Good extra storage when away from base for an extended period of time.

Would a card reader connected to the player work?
The cable would have to have the mini USB plugs at each end.

I've most prob spent a month researching this and right now, there is only one option available - without having to drag a laptop along - and this is the Creative Zen Vision which has a built-in card reader and you can also purchase an external card reader. (http://www.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=213&subcategory=214&product=12985)

The problem is that we don't get this in New Zealand (unless its parallel imported) and it costs about $999 !!

I've been in contact with Creative and they are not planning to release new mp3 players with card readers in the near future.

So for now, I guess the transfer needs a middleman!

There Archos and Ipod with Belkin memory card reader.

www.flashcards.co.nz has some good products and if they dont have what you want maybe give them a call as they are the best aftersales' i've ever seen/had and more than happy to help. Handsdown.
