We are going travelling soon and would like to save our photos/video from the camera to a hard drive (and provide some sort of playback directly on LCD screen or connected to a TV

I noticed some of the TV-connected media players advertised but have read reviews some of them don't have file copy facilities directly... you have to connect to a PC ... and may not playback the Camera format (mine is MJPEG)

Anyone got some recommendations?

A $500 netbook + a $99 1TB external hdd would be an option. Is it usb from the camera?

An even cheaper android pad might work if it will support two usb ports at the same time. Anyone know?
