iTunes. Change your import settings to convert cd's inserted to mp3. Select all of the songs you want to convert, right click and choose 'create mp3 version'. It will make a duplicate copy in mp3. When finished choose 'show duplicates' under the file menu and delete any copy's you don't need.

Itunes won't convert my audible book "aa" files to mp3 because they are DRMd.  I want to convert my books, which I have paid quite a lot of money to acquire legally, to mp3 so I can play them on an older CD player which won't read the books in their current "aa" form.  At the moment I am restricted to playing them only on my ipod which really annoys me - surely I have paid for them and they are now mine?  I guess no one is going to be able to tell me how to do it on this forum?

Correct as that would be against the FUG

Unfortunately you do NOT own the audible books. What you paid for is the right to listen to them in the format provided and depending on the license owner may be allowed limited ability to make copies but that is controlled by the owner not you. Same for software and music you have purchased.

OK I hear you, thanks, but I don't think it's fair that I should be restricted to only being able to listen to it on one device.
