Can you please tell me if there is a supplier of this Kindle in NZ and is it (don't know right terminology!) 'compatible' with NZ electronics.

You have to parallel import it as there is no supplier in the country and Amazon won't ship the Kindle DX to New Zealand.

I want a Kindle because my bibles and prayer books are too heavy to carry now - in your opinion, which would be the best eReader to get now. I don't know any of them. Thank you.

You don't have to have a Kindle DX, seeing it's an older model. The Kindle keyboard (WiFi only/WiFi and 3G) and Kindle (WiFi only) are both shipped by Amazon to New Zealand. Check our Kindle order page.

Related query.
Does a wifi only Kindle "care" what country it is in?
I.e. if I bought say a Kindle Touch from the USA (current geek lust) would it work ok here in NZ?
Would it still connect to the kindle ebook store and would I be able to use a NZ credit card?
Or perhaps just wait and see if/when it will be available here. Advice?
(I do not care about 3G).

All Kindles will work here. It's just that Amazon only ships some models to New Zealand.

I have the Kindle DX here. I bought a cover as well. I chose the DX for the larger screen. The wifi and 3g all work here no problem. I bought mine in July last year. The 6" screens were too small for me. At the time Amazon would not ship the DX here so I bought mine new from an ebay supplier. Price was the same at the time as from Amazon just shipping slightly dearer. Dont know about warranty but not worried and now it is over a year old anyway.

HTPC Intel Pentium G3258 cpu, Gigabyte H97n-wifi motherboard, , 8GB DDR3 ram, onboard graphics. Hauppuage HVR 5500 tuner, Silverstone LC16M case, Windows 10 pro 64 bit using Nextpvr and Kodi
