OK so here is the situation:

Standalone PC (No Moniter) connected to the stereo running XP and iTunes.

What I am looking for is some sort of web interface that I could queue up songs/playlists as well as edit/use current playlists via my browser over the LAN.

Does anyone know of any out of the box solutions to this?

EDIT: Would also be handy if it could play 'random' songs when no other songs/playlists are queued

If you were running Windows Media Player you would find a few UPnP clients - you could run Microsoft Connect (free) on the server and use any UPnP client to control the player, including if using a Tablet PC as the client the free one in the Tablet PC Feature Pack.

There are a few Pocket PC UPnP clients as well.

As for iTunes. Well, it's a closed architecture, right?

I want something web based thats easy to use for all the flatties (some of which would just be confused by VNC). Also would like to be able to have friends come over with Laptops and connect without having to install the VNC Viewer. (Cos the Java client is just yucky)

What is the MS Connect? Is it like VNC?

I Googled it and went to the MS site for it but it was pretty vague...

I think I have found a solution:

It's not ideal (Does not give me access to my playlists already in iTunes, and does not 'random play' automatically when nothing else is queued)

But other than that it's pretty good. Can be used with either iTunes or WMP 9+

$19.95US for a licence which isnt bad either.

Only other Grrr is it does not like to run on port 80, defaults to 9999 and will accept pretty much anything but port 80
