Hi All,

I have Kindle 2 that is around 1.5 years. When I tried to wake it yesterday, the screensaver disapered from the screen and almost the whole screen turned into white/gray lines. Only visible is bottom 1cm row.

I restarted Kindle a number of times without any improvement. It looks like that screen is gone.

Please advice if you know service or someone who is repairing/replacing Kindle 2 screens.

Where did you buy it from? They shouldn't die that quickly, they should last a reasonable period of time. They may not be economical to repair, I mean you can buy them from $150, which I am guessing is about what a standard repair would cost anyway.

You probably didn't buy at Dick Smith, seeing they only started selling the Kindle Keyboard a few months back.

If you bought from Amazon, contact them and see if this can be replaced. I don't think anyone in NZ would be doing repairs on Kindle.

You could try googling the problem, to see if anyone else has had the problem. That is what I always do when I have a problem with something, and other people have usually had the identical problem and what to do about it.

I rang the US number when my kindle 2 broke.  They replaced it even though it was outside f its warranty period.  Very similar symptons.
