Anyone have any thoughts regarding Seek vs Trade Me in regards to performance. I generally use Trade Me when listing jobs but have had average results. Is Seek any better? So far my theory has been most job seekers will look at both job boards.

I'm looking around at the moment and check both regularly.

From an advertising point of view I don't think you need to use both, most roles I'm interested in are o both sites. Why pay twice?

I've been around the traps as an employee for the last couple of decades and I have to say that as a job seeker, I am more likely to use Seek than Trademe.

Yeah my take on this is that if it's a serious job, then you should have it on seek.  They do one thing and they do it well.

After this I'd add trademe if you wanted to ensure coverage.  Like I said though, it depends on the job.  Personally I would question someone who was looking for a job who didn't check seek.  As in if they're not seeing your seek advert, then is that really a loss to you?

As a job seeker, I use both, but if I had to pick one it would be Seek.

Definitely Seek for a professional/executive/specialist role where you want an experienced employee. If it's something casual or suitable for someone with little or no experience I'd go with TM.

I would recommend Seek, if you are looking serious job. As an employer I would also use Seek for searching qualified employees.

Until very recently I only looked at Seek for contract work.

As there is very little out there for Technical BAs at the moment I've started looking at Trade Me too.

I've noticed that all the recruiting firms use seek and some use Trade Me.

When a company is advertising directly then it can be a bit random, some use seek, some use Trade Me, a few use both.

If I was hiring and I could only advertise on one then I'd use seek but ideally I'd use both.

As a recruiter I use both Trade Me and SEEK. But have found that I've had more views on Trade Me than SEEK (that's advertising for 2 weeks so far); in fact the SEEK numbers don't even come close to the amount of views I've had on Trade Me. I think it depends on what people are looking for and preference for which site they prefer to look for jobs on.

Personally when I was looking for jobs I looked at both but looked at SEEK more often.

What really will define if one works or not and the true cost per lead will be the quality of applicants you have and how many are placed.

Ah yes that is true but the question wasn't about quality. In the type of niche market I am recruiting for the quality of applicants is not that high on either Trade Me or Seek. But I have had many apply through Trade Me and only a few via SEEK. Trade Me I have found is good for testing the market, to see who is out there looking for work.
