Pay is probably lousy, but it's in a nice location, Whangārei

https://www.nrc.govt.nz/Your-Council/Work-for-us/Job-vacancies/rivers--natural-hazards-engineer2.

Rivers & Natural Hazards Engineer

Come and enjoy a healthy work/life balance in Northland and enjoy our fantastic surroundings. Only a couple hours’ drive from Auckland, we enjoy the best of both worlds. Northland boasts an abundance of white sandy beaches and a wealth of fishing and diving spots make this the perfect place to live, work and play. In addition to our plentiful marine environment, our region is a major agricultural centre producing fresh local ingredients for our thriving markets, cafes and restaurants.

However, it is the people that make a place and you will find the staff at the regional council, down-to-earth, warm and welcoming – just like the people and communities we serve. We are extremely passionate about the work we do and take our responsibilities in protecting and investing in Northland seriously.

An opportunity has arisen within the Environmental Services Group for a Rivers and Natural Hazards Engineer, based in Whangārei.

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated person with the ability to contribute to the design, construction, maintenance and management of river management schemes and other river flood risk reduction works.
