Have you ever built your own virtual machine cloud using OpenStack, Ceph storage and container technology? Or have you ever dreamt of learning to do it and have a good Linux systems foundation, some understanding of networking and maybe a bit of interest in what goes on in the data centre end as well? This is just the opportunity to do just that!

We're looking for a full-time, fixed-term staff member to be an integral part of a dedicated team to build and maintain our Research Cloud. The workplace is at the University of Auckland on Symonds Street, but you will have the option of working from home Mondays and Thursdays. Banding starts from $74k, running into $100k, depending on relevant skills & experience.

Hint: This is a legacy position description, so don't let that scare you. A permanent job is about to open up in this space as well and we're working at re-writing the PD to reflect the job better.
