Hi Team,

I need an expert advice , I hold both NZ & Aus PR.

My AUS PR would expire by end of 2022 and to apply for RRV I need to stay in AUS for 2 years or show some link with AUS. Which is not the case.

So I am looking for opportunity to work from NZ for Australia Company to have some ties with Australia.

How does the tax thing works? Can you please guide

Regards

Ravi

Then don't ask a pubic chat board,....

. go and find a professional tax advisor/accountant....

Don't know if you'll find anything but have you looked on the IR website?

There's a couple of threads on GZ that may be of help if you take a look using the search function, there was a recent discussion in 2019 - https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=75&topicid=250849

I used this search term "working australia company nz" and a few came up

Thank you so much for your reply.

I read the thread so wanted to know about tax deductions.

For example my salary offered by Australia firm is 100,000$.

So this will be deducted as per NZ tax slab or Aus tax slab? because for Australia I will be a Non Resident as I am not staying in Australia and for Non Resident the tax slabs are higher.

Also how about the With holding tax do I need to claim it from NZ or Aus?

Can this be moved to Finance and wealth management as it needs the disclosures that come with that site.

Australian tax is complicated. Get professional advice, it will cost circa 3-5% of the salary, but my save you paying 80% of it (tax in both countries)
