You can't. You need the last owner who logged into it to log into it and turn off Find My.

You have a phone for parts.

As above, unless you can get your hands on the receipt or the old owner to unlock it, its a brick. That's the whole point of iCloud lock

I don't know if you can even use it for parts. The screen, battery, face ID sensor etc are tied to the phone (and will then offer degraded performance/functionality) unless you apply some Apple magic.

No, but if such a person exists I'd love to meet him/her.:D

Apple 2FA security protocols make it next to impossible.

You can re-program the battery but beyond that iOS will scream at you for switching 1 thing that's not done through them or through the ASRP.

Was its locked condition and the fact you wouldn't be able to unlock it, and therefore not use it, fully disclosed?

I've got a box of locked iPhones. If you find a way to do it, I'd love to know as well ;) In the meantime, they make good paper weights.

Take it to an authorised Apple repair centre with proof of purchase.  It’s possible for Apple to remove Activation Lock from devices without using the previous owner’s iCloud password.

Its from a police auction. I highly doubt they would have the receipt for a most likely stolen phone (then recovered, and put into the auction).

Anyone tried contacting Apple regarding a situation like this..... ? Would they unlock it with something in writing from the Police ?

First point on the requirements........ I doubt it. They'd probably ask you some questions about the account that you wont be able to answer.
