PhantomNVD: My 4s seems just the same as before.... Liking the predictions, no slowing of apps, still exploring the rest tbh...

Thanks. Bit O research on a MR thread shows that many are having slowdown issues, but anecdotally, many more are seeing it as fine. Apparently, on a new version, there is a level of indexing and housekeeping going on, then its fine. Can also be too many CPU intensive settings, can be the higher memory footprint after install, leaves a bit less RAM, so too many running apps may bring memory too low. All in all, it seems fine.

I do like how apple have supposedly encrypted our devices and thrown away the keys, it's a step in the right direction for basic privacy.

I updated my iPad2 3G +wifi, and my iPhone 4s.      24 hrs later I am rolling back to 7.1.2 again...

The iPad2 keeps on losing the 3G connection and saying no service. The only way to get it working again is to completely restart. The other big issue is that my wife and I share an iCloud account that we use to sync bookmarks, share docs, share photos etc. Now that Find My Friend is rolled into iCloud, we can't use it, because we are now the same identity, whereas we used to use separate Apple IDs for our Find my Friends, as well as FaceTime and iMessages. PITA!

So...I have downgraded to 7.1.2 while I try and think of a workaround. It just really suits us to share our main iCloud account, but clearly Apple does not want that happening. Family Sharing won't really solve everything. We still won't be able to share bookmarks, or have one repository for Pages docs etc.

Arrgh...

Wifi keeps freezing on my iPad Air, particularly on 5G. Rebooting the iPad fixes it for a while. Wifi working fine on my other devices so seems to be an iOS 8 problem. Didn't have any problems before the update.

Autocorrect on the stock keyboard throws up some weird words too.

I just have to say, I'm loving the ad-hoc ATV network feature! laughing

no longer gonna need my wifes phone to be a WiFi AP for playing downloaded iTunes movies and rentals, or lugging a MiFi/ wireless AP around just to use a motel/hotel's big screen TV.... sweet!

The raise to speak function is gone... they seemed to have replaced with the silly "Hey Siri" feature, ala - "Ok Google", but even then it only works when your phone is plugged in. I used the snot out of raise to speak, especially when walking, creating reminders, calling people, dictating txts or replies...

I was using the camera a bit over the weekend, and stability has taken a big step backwards, with the app freezing a few times on my 5S.

It is also very misleading when freeing up available space, as deleted photos/videos aren't deleted straight away, but instead go into a 'Recently Deleted' album. It took me a while to figure this out, while I scratched my head as to why I couldn't free up space for more photos by deleting a few hundy megs of existing photos and videos.

Any firmware updates for your modem? I got sick of having WiFi issues with Apple gear and non-Apple routers. So I use an Apple Airport Express now. No problems.

I did a DFU restore on my iPhone 5S and it is about the same experience as 7.1.2 however benchmarks (in reviews) show a slight performance drop when compared to 7.1.2 but that'll be addressed in future updates coming down the line. So far everything seems to be working well and uneventful in terms of no strange behaviour, crashes or problems. It is great to see that there are some of my main applications finally being upgraded to iOS 8.0 such as Alien Blue, WhatsApp and others - hopefully things will keep improving in terms of a more optimised and mature operating system with greater integration with OS X and their cloud service.

My battery life has been terrible since updating. Wife's phone is fine. Have updated it, restored it to iOS8, restored the backups about 5 times with no luck.
I don't want to reset the settings on it and lose all my wifi passwords etc so will just have to hope it comes right/they fix it in an update.

Mine is a little flakey too at present. The only remedy is a reset, otherwise you're just restoring the same problems each time.
