So... the PlexConnect that I got it working well with ATV2 decided to pack itself in the weekend... Tempted to replace all ATVs (2x ATV2 and 1x ATV3) with ATV4 32GB and move on up to the tvOS.

Where's a good deal for now?

Dick Kogan Smith had the 32gb at $226...

kogan (nz) has them for $249 currently, but how much is shipping?

I got this email on the 16th, but I  havent payed close attention how kogan smith works... and it was branded Dicksmith.co.nz

Just had a look now, what an awful site and offer. I got $28 del charges, and 2 week delivery. Why bother.

Last I checked, shipping was $59.

Edit just checked again, ATV4 (32GB) $249, shipping to North Shore NZ $27.99. So $277 delivered (no freight protection). RRP in NZ $299.

Just don't buy anything else that may take you over the $400 GST/Customs threshold.

Dingbatt: SIf I can program the Siri remote to do the Receiver volume, all the better, but I'm not holding my breath

That should be possible. Our Siri remote controls our Pioneer AV receiver volume with no problems.

Yup it also controls our Yamaha receiver, and didn't have to do any programming, it just worked.

I wouldn't buy anything off him... it's a .co.nz site not charging GST because it's actually in Australia and they charge ridiculous delivery changes.  I'd rather pay the GST and buy local thanks.

Looks like they are doing free shipping on it as well, so not a bad deal.

Dvblogic app has been released!
Just trying the dvblink server software on my server, that has the dvbs tuner cards in it, and it's working well so far.
If this keeps working like this I can get rid of the Intel nuc PC that we've had to keep for watching live tv via mediaportal, and use the Apple TV for everything.
With the new app from dvblogic you can watch and record live tv, view the program guide and view recorded tv.
The app itself is free but the server software is €49, there is 20 day trial for it which is what I'm trying first.

Interesting! But this would only be for Freeview over the air, right? No satellite receiver?

It supports UHF or satellite Freeview, you just need the appropriate tuner cards in the server.
Won't work with standalone Freeview boxes.

Not sure when it was released, but 3NOW has released a major update to their Apple TV app - looks the same as web and other apps now 😃 Just waiting on TVNZ!

Slightly OT but have always wondered why some of these decoder boxes are so expensive. I recently bought this box from aliexpress for $NZD58 for netflix and I can use the google play store. Just a pity the roku streamer wasn't sold here also.

Does it work is the question?  I had something similar....the TVNZ app wouldn't go on it.  The Sky Go App would, but then it complained it wasn't allowed to output video over HDMI.  The remote I had to keep switching to mouse mode for certain apps.  You name it.
