WolfChop: Weirdly, every iPhone now has at least a 5-7 business day shipping window instead of a Friday 20th. Anybody know the reason for this?
Supply...or lack thereof.

Is it? Just last night almost all iPhone 11 models still had a Friday 20th shipping window then just this morning they all are 5-7 business days window. I can’t imagine a bunch of people ordered each configuration of the 11 overnight.

Are you in Auckland? I saw last night if I changed my postcode to say Dunedin, the delivery time was days longer.

Yes I’m in Auckland. I’ve also noticed when I change my postcode to different areas in Auckland, it changes the delivery date by one to three days depending on area.

Another change just now: All configurations for iPhone 11 Pro have changed delivery dates to 2-3 weeks.

Is this Apple finally shipping the first batch of preorder units and these new dates are for a new batch?

There would have been thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of people ordering each day since Friday when you account for all regions/countries. So it's 100% feasible that yes a bunch of people ordered each config overnight!

Pre-ordered last night on the phone, 12 months interest free so quite easy on the wallet. Also got the HDMI dongle to utilise the AppleTV+ ability.

One thing to be careful about is that Apple has instructed DHL that should delivery be unsuccessful, the recipient can only arrange pickup (online via DHL's website) at DHL's own depots. If you want it delivered to a Courierpost pickup point, you will need to ring up Apple and they will have to initiate the request for you.

If you must have the thing on release date, maybe work from home.

Just watched the CNet review. Night mode isn't that impressive at all.

Maybe if they sold them outright. Gonna chance my luck on some stores in town on Friday/Saturday

I preordered the iPhone 11 128GB Green last night which had an estimate of arriving on Wed 25th to Fri 27th. It’s now moved forward to Mon 23rd. I wonder if this might be an issue of Apple giving us a proper estimate after we give them our actual address or something? Either way, just letting people here know to keep an eye out on the Apple Store shipping estimates as they seem to be changing often and you might end up not waiting as long as estimated.

The Verge review made it look way better, either way, not a bad first outing for Apple, i guess?

Has anyone who ordered through Spark received their track/trace number yet or will it be tomorrow?

Should be tomorrow I'd imagine, with couriers collecting them tomorrow afternoon/evening from the various distribution centres (eg. Brightpoint) for delivery on Friday.

I wouldn't start frantically hitting refresh on your email inbox until at least 2pm tomorrow ;)

As someone who has done waaaay too many of these, I wouldn't expect the tracking number from Apple until about 9 PM-ish on Thursday. What you'll then find is that the phones are already in the country. Apple seem to go to a lot of trouble to look after their iPhone delivery day recipients.

Just got my shipping email from 2degrees woohoo!

Assuming the courier doesn't lose it between now and tomorrow, this will be the fifth iPhone launch in a row that they've come through for me on day 1. Thanks 2D!
