I've never seen vodafone give you a subsidy for just upgrading your plan, you gotta sign up for another 12-24 months as well.

wreck90: Jeez, I'm in the USA now. Just popped into an apple store, the place was buzzing.

Wanna get an iphone 4.0 but waiting until just before i come home in a couple of weeks.

The phone itself looks nice.

wanted to see nz pricing first if possible.

You won't miss out in terms of pricing in NZ, trust me:)  Definitely get it in the US.

just make sure it's unlocked. the advantage of buying in australia (if you come back that way) is that you get unlocked phone from australian apple store + gst refund at airport, also easier to deal with warranty problems (only have to send to australia, rather than send to USA)

I do see  you point, but that doesn't make it valid.
So is not the device, not the plans but the subsidy that VFNZ offers? So VFNZ are abusing commercial position by offering subsidies that no one else offers? So instead of thanking them for allowing you to obtain the device cheaper than even the manufacturer offers, you blast them for somehow restricting you?

Bit by bit, post by post, you are dismantling you own argument.....

um are you serious? yes i am "blasting" them if thats what you want to call it... all it takes is a few clicks to compare the iphone plans all over the world vs nz iphone plans. most, if not all of them offer much better value for your money.

australia? $99aud=120nzd/month plan = 2GB data, unlimted voice calls, pxt and txt to national AND international mobiles
nz? 130nzd/month plan = 500mb, 250mins of national calls and 600 txt, international services + pxt cost extra.

um... wait is that MORE value for LESS money?

god just let it go...

There we have it, not secret corporate conspiracy, just another person comparing us to overseas countries, without considering the economics. If you don't like what you get in NZ, then simply move.. Quite an easy fix really....

PS I have let it go, I either pay want companies charge, get it cheaper elsewhere, or go without.
