Yes, I said iPhone 5 display is winning by a long shot compared to other manufacturers current models.

As you correctly guessed - I'm believing the hype! (totally without evidence)

Did you actually read any of that article? or Just paste it?
That article compares the original Galaxy S to the iPhone 4/4S, an older phone. And says that the Galaxy S III would be similar to the Galaxy Nexus, which it in now way is. Also this:
Soneira's public tests (versus confidential ones that manufacturers commission) admittedly don't consider new phones like the HTC One X or HTC One S and both phones' screens look bright, colorful, and satisfying when they stand on their own.

I'm with the hipsters on this one.

I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

Yes I did read the article. The link was an attempt at humor.

It really is the first result when you google "Hipsters believe Apple iPhone 5 IPS far superior to Samsung Amoled".

I can see that it was imprecise given the context and I'm genuinely sorry that it has annoyed you.

It has greatly saddened me, and I spent the evening crying. However I sold those tear to Apple, who mix it with the tears of others to make the new "emo" mode for the iPhone 5 camera

Really dissapointed with the 5. Just sold the 4 on tuesday in anticpiation of getting it, but its really an anti climax. S3 is looking more likely at this stage purely because in priniple I dont want to buy a phone thats playing catch up. Google maps in android is key for me too.

Will wait for the full reviews as the only thing that would swing me would be much better battery life.

Boring to me, I'm excited about the Nokia Lumia 920 though, been using WP7(.5) on HTC Trophy for almost 2 years now, still love it. Lumia 920 also has an IPS screen, looking forward to checking it out.

Dunnersfella: I'm not surprised that the new iPod Touch is more expensive, the current model has been around for 2 generations now, meaning it has become more cost effective to manufacture.
I'm surprised no one has got on the 'Why have they killed the Classic' bandwagon though...
Not that I want one whatsoever, but, well, I'm just a little taken back that no one has decided to whinge about it on here ;-)

Classic is cool. 120 - 160GB Music player. Touch wheel. iHaters are enjoyng themselves. More fool them

It was the first time I have watched the full keynote, as I wanted to learn more about the ipod touch. It was so over the top, and almost as though they were imitating steve jobs. It was amazing how much hype they gave for just the ipod touch strap, which I think is so naff that it turns me against buying it a but. It is pity it has the popout strap mount I think, as it is something that is going to catch on things. If the ipod touch has it and it is so great, I can't understand why they didn't add it to the iphone.
But they did show that the manufacturing of the iphone is very good, and is probably the best made smartphone, with the best materials out there.

USD $649 is almost $800 NZD. Not the same.

Vodafone have a habit of not disclosing the price in some mistaken view that this will make happy customers.
historically the price has been anounced about 4 hours before it goes on sale.
but maybe this time around they will not tell us the price at all, using a NDA on people who buy it and that way it can be on sale and they can keep the price secret for weeks.

or maybe they will do the right thing and let us know the price a week before?

I think the first option is more likely.....

I believe the strap is a very smart marketing move...
In the Asian markets straps are HUGE! So this will encourage growth in that area of the globe... and you can imagine in NZ where school kids have numerous straps, red ones, black ones, white ones, rasta ones - you get the idea. Heck case will come with straps thrown in / Skullcandy will make one / Marley will make one...

crackrdbycracku: Those Nokias also include 'wireless charging', I don't think this has actually been put to the test in a review yet but still a cool feature.

Wireless charging has been around for years. I bought a wireless charging kit for my Wii a couple of years ago and it works pretty well for charging the controllers. It would reduce wear and tear on a phone connector but I'm not sure how fast the charging would be compared to over a cable.
