Are you all going to use a case, and if so what do you look for in a case?

I've ordered the matte black. I think it would be a shame to cover up such a nice looking device (especially those with Jet Black) however you still want protection right?

Always.

Current case for 6 Plus is a folio case. Opens up to use in portrait, or can unfold and sits up in landscape. Full protection. iPad case is Targus, sits up in landscape and portrait.

Given the cost, they are delicate re scratches, glass, why do some use them naked?

That's somewhat annoying that mine has changed, throughout the entire order process the ship date said 16/9.

Even on the website, till today at some point. Oh well, might call them on Monday to ask then cancel as I won't be here to receive the phone that week.

You're not alone, I ordered the gold Plus 256, shipping was showing 16/9 throughout the process, and on the order page until sometime this morning. Now it's changed to 21/9.

And therefore, why do Apple bother to put all that effort into the naked look?

Lucky :)

I noticed a few people on the whirlpool.net.au forums also having their delivery dates slip from 16/9 to 21/9. I wonder if the movement back is due to people ahead of you cancelling their pre orders

Whatever the reason, I'll take it, and I forbid Apple from fooling with it anymore :).

You answered my question. Style. Some want others to see they have an iPhone probably.

Off to Aussie at end of October so my partner and I are looking to upgrade from our two venerable iPhone 4 - 16gb (2010). We are looking at the Gloss Black 128gb iPhone (one each) and then claim the Aussie GST back at the airport using their "Tourist Refund Scheme" (TRS). Therefore with the exchange rate minus the GST it comes to about NZ$1155 each. Which is about NZ$244 saving. As well, Aussie Apple stores run a "Trade Up" scheme with for us equals about A$25 per phone as a gift voucher. Every bit counts I suppose.

Our only reservation is the Apples standard guarantee which I have heard is world wide but would Apple NZ cover manufacture faults or fair use faults under the NZ consumer guarantee thingy.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

I have purchased a couple of devices from Apple store in Melbourne and had no issue with warranty here. The stock we get here is the Australian stock anyway.
