I was budgeting $1600 and expecting to be able to get 128Gb for that price, but having had a look at the detailed breakdown of memory usage on my current 64Gb phone I'm pretty sure I can continue to get by on 64Gb for another couple of years. The $150 saved can go towards a pair of Bose QC35.

What is interesting from some of the info I have seen, is that the new phone will have a weird aspect ratio, and due to the notch on the display, it means viewing videos will mean that a lot of the screen gets cut out. Otherwise you end up with bars at the top and bottom, giving it a head and chin again. Also web pages get cropped at the top and bottom, and at the notch. So I am wondering if it is going to be all that great for many when they try using it. IMO the notch creates problems, and hopefully the next version gets everything under the OLED screen, as apparently that is possible with that technology.

That notch just looks so wrong. What happened to the beautiful design that Apple are so well known for?

If it did exist it would have likely been 64GB $1400, 128GB $1600 256GB $1800 based on what Apple used to price at, if you want a 256GB you are doing OK, but for the 128GB users, which seemed to be the majority previously this kind of sucks! I use 47GB of my 128GB so 64GB could work, but if I want to take heaps of photos and videos of my daughter then it may not work so well for me. Unfortunately the removal of the 128GB is a huge hole, but it is likely been done for a reason $$$

Yeah, 64Gb vs 256Gb will be a tough call for some people. I think I've only used 18Gb on my existing 64Gb device and I'm not expecting to consume much more so I should be okay.

I think they do it deliberately - ie. offer a very low entry option, skip the middle option, to try and push consumers into the much higher price option. They've always done it - think back, iPhone used to go from 16GB to 64GB, skipping the 32GB.

In next years iPhones you'll have 128GB and 512GB options only. :)

I've got a 256GB 7+ and just checked my storage and I've only used 20GB.

I doubt it is due to supply constraints. More likely to get people to spend the extra on the 256GB version, thinking rightly that 64GB is too small for such an expensive device, which needs the storage for the super slomo, AR apps and 4K video amongst other requirements. 128GB would be 'enough'in most peoples perception whilst 64GB is 'not enough'
