I have the gold PM. The gold is quite pale, the back looks completely white from certain angles. The transition is quite eye catching. 


It catches more finger prints than my 11PM though. 


From looking at the comparison photos on their website it looks like a shade exactly in the middle of the 11 and 12, yep the 12 pro max in gold is quite a pale gold and I would hardly call it gold at all. What do you mean by fingerprints, have they dropped the matte finish? Or are you talking about the steel band?

Hah - @Insanekiwi - yeah, I'd given up on delivery today too... but low & behold the courier dropped it off at 5.00pm in Miramar, Wellington.


The NZPost tracker had it at Ngaio all day and this afternoon it was listed as delivery for Monday?! When I said that it seemed the guy was working late, the courier said "we always try and get them out if we can"



Just got it. 6:30pm! I said thank you for the late delivery!

I haven't seen a 12 PM in gold so I can't really comment.

 

The band is a lot worse than the curved one of the 11, as you'd expect, but so is the back is a little worse too it is just a lot more noticeable with the colour shifting at angles, it brings more attention to the prints I guess. The texture doesn't feel different to me. (Or maybe the 11 is just so stunningly gross by now that it's less noticeable).

I've just been setting up my 13 Pro. I've tested all my apps and paired my Apple Watch, and I think everything is finally working.

 

It looks like there is a software update that it wants to run which seems odd considering that it shipped with iOS 15. I guess there must be a minor security update on iOS 15 already.

 

The design is really nice but operationally I wouldn't say it's significantly different to my XS Max. My main observation is that it's very heavy which I assume is due to the cameras which look quite imposing.

 

Speaking of the cameras, I have to say I was slightly confused when I had a quick play with the camera app. I thought that the wide lens was supposed to hand off cleanly to the telephoto at 26mm, which then optically zooms to 78mm but this behaviour doesn't seem to be reflected by the indicators at the bottom of the frame. I need to spend some more time to get my head around that.

NZ Post status remained at “at depot ready for courier” all day and then randomly turned up at 3pm. Courier asked for a photo of me holding the box (in lieu of signature) which was a new one for me.

All set up now.

Everyone happy their colour choice? I always find no matter what colour I choose, I always have hard feelings about the other options.

Mines the same, although mine didn’t even get that far until this afternoon. Estimated delivery for me is Tuesday and they’re usually pretty accurate with that so I’m assuming that’s when mine will be.

Just happy I do t have to wait until the end of October anyway.

Yeah, I think so. Graphite isn't overly exciting but I think it looks classy.

 

I've always thought gold phones look a bit tacky. Blue and silver look really nice but wouldn't fit with my MacBook Pro, AirPods Max or Apple Watch which are all graphite/space gray.

I like my graphite. 
Really hoping I don’t regret it when I see the Sierra Blue. 
Next is trying to decide the case colour, thinking either Cherry or Green

Ok so my friend’s iPhone just arrived but mine has not!!

We both pre-ordered at the same time at around 12am.

The tracking website is showing they both arrived in NZ at the same time. Very strange :(

Uh. Spark can’t help transfer my eSIM. Need to get an appointment to go in store under level 3 apparently. First they have to transfer eSIM to physical SIM and then to eSIM on the new phone….

I went in to spark this morning to do that exact process

And yes they do have to transfer to a sim, then back to a new esim

Took about 15 mins all up
