I’ve preordered a HomePod mini from the Australian store and getting my friend to post it to me.

so ridiculous that they haven’t made progress to releasing them in NZ.

m1dday: So, how many here will be going for the 12 Pro Max/12 Mini preorders tonight? 👀

I stayed up until 2am and ordered my 12 Pro Max in the Apple Store app.

My expected delivery date is release day, Friday 13th, after checking later on in the day the expected delivery dates have been pushed out by a few weeks, so it was worth staying up to secure a release day delivery!

Not that I would buy it even it was here, but is there a reason other than "cannot be bothered" that it is not available here?

Does anyone know the answer to this? I got asked again today.

People elsewhere seem to have the steel ones but nobody here seems to.

Watching the Apple Event today "one more thing", my main reaction to the new Macs announced is Apple is clearly saying life is better without Intel in it

I was curious to see how they would handle ordering for intel v apple chip orders... and they've gone straightforward enough (on their website):

MacBook Air Intel options - no more. all apple silicon

Mac Mini - only top end model is Intel

Macbook Pro 13 - only top end model is Intel. All others are Apple Silicon only

Given the bulk of sales would be for entry level off the shelf models, its clear intel is being exited real fast, in true Apple style.

Depends on the band you're choosing.

"normal" bands - delivery in 3-4 days.

New Bands like the braided loop - 3-4 weeks (or longer)

I bought a MBP i5 16gb a couple of weeks ago in the jb hifi sale ($3299>$2969). They didnt have any in stock at the time and were trying to get one form another store. It still hasn't arrived. Now wondering if i should cancel and go for the new M1 chip with 8gb RAM. It will be mainly used for adobe illustrator and general surfing. Looks like its cheaper and might have similar performance.

Decisions, decisions!!

Would be nice if they made that a bit clearer!!

I was ordering (or thinking of ordering) the blue leather one.

I am thinking now that I may as well order through Spark since if she wants to use the LTE she has to do it through them anyway and they offer interest free so why not take advantage of that..

Also, due to S*d's Law, the minute I shift her phone to Spark, VF will launch Apple Watch and ESIM support...which I can then use.

Can anyone comment on their standard iPhone 12 battery life experience to date?

I've been waiting for the mini, but reports on its dismal battery life are putting me off, so thinking about up sizing to the 12.

I wouldn’t say its dismal. It’s 2 hours up on the iPhone X and SE2020. Smaller footprint = smaller battery. Just physics. Get it directly from Apple and use it for a couple of weeks. If you are not happy simply return it to Apple.
