mattwnz: This is one reason I think that the ipod touch new version should have the same A6 processor as the iphone 5, not a processor that is already 18 months old, as it will likely mean that future support will cease before the iphone 5.

This is quite an interesting article on how IOS support for the new ipod touch will end a year earlier, compared to previous versions, due to it using old hardware from the iphone 4 and 4S.

If you buy iPhone 5 from Apple online how do you get the nano sim? Can you take current micro sim into Telecom and swap it for nan sim and get number moved to nano sim?

If you go into Telecom and buy from them I assume that they will swap sims on the spot.

Anybody know how this will work?

Cut your sim/micro-sim into a Nano-Sim with a nano-sim cutter and a little bit of sand-paper if needed. I should have one in a few days.

Apple has plenty of shortcomings, particularly in regards to RF performance. However most people are willing to overlook them "because it's an iPhone". That's some pretty powerful marketing there when you can make a somewhat sub-par product (according to some people) and people will still buy it just because of the brand.

Yeh but look at the coverage (excuse the pun) around this fault, it became so big that apple could not ignore it, and they introduced a number of fixes, including distributing the free bumpers, software updates, and eventually hardware fixes. Apple doesn't want their brand tarnished and seem to go out of their way to fix it and look like the good guy, which can only mean good for consumers.

Also in regards to returns like people said before, it was still the fastest I've ever had with any company before. Called them up about the power button jamming on my 4S, still in warranty, they put a $1000 hold on a credit card, sent me a new iPhone withen 3 days, I sent my old one back, and the hold was taken off. Couldn't have been easier. No waiting for assessments, repairs, shipping to and from, easy.

Of course it is not going to be a long wait. You just get another iphone that has been fixed earlier. Your broken phone will get fixed and the next person who has another problem will receive 'your' phone.

The "RF performance" problem *is not* the antennagate. Inside the industry the iPhone radio performance is known for not being the best all around. This is not related to the problem you're talking about.

You send in a used and faulty phone, you get back one that has been repaired and is fully functional, hell it may even be in better overall condition than the one you sent in. Whats the issue?
Would you rather wait to have you actual handset repaired and returned so you can keep the marks on the case that remind you of something?
Factory refurbishment is a valid and acceptable way to offer timely repairs.

Not sure if this was directed at me or tardtasticx. I know they are two separate issues, I should have been more clear in my post. Antennagate was the issue about the "death grip" where if you covered the side of the phone (where your hand goes) it would drop coverage.

The RF performance issue is a general thing that is another separate issue.
