FYI folks I have updated the files. The APN for general Data *was* set to direct.telecom.co.nz I have now changed this to internet.telecom.co.nz. Please update your iPhone's with the new ipcc.

What does the change do?...any reason for this update or just a tidy up (ie both work just as well?)

violeta: We signed up with Telecom in early June. They told us the APN in the store and told us they would do some research to make sure that our phones would work. (We have locked US iphones with turbosims to do a hardware unlock.) The next day we went back to the store and they said they had received a memo that morning instructing them that because they are doing a deal with Apple to sell the iphone they are forbidden from providing any support to unlocked iphones -- including TELLING customers the APN!!!!! (Fortunately they already told us the day before they got the memo.)
maknz: So if I do this the phone is unable to roam? Can I remove it and it will roam again? Please elaborate.
