No settings have been changed or apps on my ip5 on this iOS and on the 6.1.3 and my battery drain is something cronic.

It looses charge by at least 30% over an eight hour period when I am asleep and not using it - but the kicker is that its using wifi so not searching for a cell tower etc.

This has really only been over the past 7 weeks.

It can also be at full charge when I leave home at 8am - and be at 25% when I get home.

Hmm, I find the battery life improved, although that is my subjective opinion. Looking at previous comments, my Location is on, signed into iTunes is on, automatic timezone is on. I dont use Fetch for mail. I get around 8 to 9 hours usage and 30 hours + standby. That would decrease with more video use but seems good to me. I am on 6.1.2. I turn it off at night.

On one hand its fine, no issue, but clearly there is at least one factor that is an issue for some, if we can pinpoint it.

Ok, I had this problem when 6.1.2 came out on iPhone 5, and also noticed the temperature increased dramatically.

I managed to fix this by turning a few things off...

Safari sync
Continuous asking of wifi joining

Now, I get a full day out of my phone... And the temp is good too

I don't know if people know this. But I only found this out today (still new to iPhones)

If you double click on the home button you will get a menu at the bottom. These are all your apps that are currently running. You press and hold one of the icons it will shake and get a red "-" on it. You can then kill the apps that are running. (similar to Androids Task killer).

Now since I bought the phone I have been using it a alot and a lot of apps were still open. Once I closed it all a charged it. The phone seems to be lasting 2 days on medium use and then I charge.

On iOS 6.1.3

Hope that helps :)

The iphone does not use wifi when sleeping. Using wifi when sleeping increases battery drain

Has anyone noticed any change with the battery life from 6.1.2 to the recent 6.1.3?

I only heard of the update last night - hopefully it is improving the battery life?
