westy_nz: There is a recommendation to ring the mobile help desk there. I'll give that a go tomorrow if it still hasn't activated.

I've had the same problem and Telecom were sympathetic, polite, trie to help, but couldn't.  They suspect Apple is still at fault, as do I.

ajobbins: Do you (or does Telecom) have a 'premium SMS' blocking service? If they do, that could be breaking it (I know it breaks it on Voda AU if you turn the premium SMS option off)

Thanks for that. No I don't have anything like that turned on (to my knowledge).

Thanks for that. I won't give them call then. We will just have to wait and see if Apple come up with a fix.

Did telecom track the setup SMS for you?

I woudn't wait for apple, 7.03 is the fix and it appears OK for vodfone users and overseas users.  From what i can tell , only telecom is affected.

Unless anyone on vodafone has an issue?

No, Telecom didn't try to track any set-up SMS when I called them.  Not sure they would be keen to be asked to do so though ...

If you refer to the 'alternate thread' on this (re Telecom: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=39&topicid=133495&page_no=2#921006), you'll note we may have discovered a pattern: all of us seem to be 021 numbers ported to Telecom.  (Vodafone's revenge, perhaps! :)

This issue should be fixed if you are a Telecom user. See the alternate thread: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=39&topicid=133495&page_no=3#922031
